Valuation Analyst

ComStock Advisors is seeking a full-time Valuation Analyst for our Cincinnati, D.C., and Chicago offices.  Primary responsibilities include assisting clients needing a wide range of business valuation services and merger and acquisition analysis; performing detailed financial statement analysis and industry research and presenting analysis and findings; reviewing client financial statements, tax returns, budgets, and other source documents utilized in analysis; developing and performing sophisticated financial and valuation modeling including: discounted cash flows analysis, guideline companies analysis, merger and acquisition analysis, and scenario and sensitivity analysis; participating in client meetings and working within a team to provide advisory services to clients; and, preparing work products for client delivery.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant field required,
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Organized and able to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with clients

Valuation Manager

ComStock Advisors is seeking a full-time Valuation Manager for our Cincinnati, D.C., and Chicago offices.  Primary responsibilities include managing and executing valuation engagements, and participating in all aspects of the engagement. The Valuation Manager will have direct interaction with clients as well as responsibility for overseeing projects. Valuation Managers are responsible for the training and development of Associates. In addition, the Valuation Manager will be responsible for business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant field required, Master of Business Administration preferred
  • ASA, CPA, CFA credential in valuation preferred
  • Ability to generate new business
  • Minimum of five years of recent valuation experience
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Organized and able to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with clients

Business Valuation Senior Associate (multiple positions)

ComStock Advisors is seeking a Business Valuation Senior Associate for the Itasca, IL office location.  Responsibilities include:  Performing business and asset appraisals for reporting, tax, transaction, and general corporate purposes;  analyze financial statements; perform comparative ratio analysis; develop cost of capital estimates; financial modeling; industry, company, transaction, and comparable company research; and, prepare and present written and oral reports of your research and analyses.

A Master’s degree or higher (or foreign educational equivalent) in Finance or Economics is required.  In addition to the degree, must have at least two years of full-time progressive experience as a valuation analyst including: performing valuations for ESOPs, transactions, estate planning, fair value reporting, goodwill impairment, purchase price allocation assignments, and general corporate purposes; and valuing companies in a range of industries including service companies, distributors, manufacturers, and telecommunication companies. Experience must include proficiency in Capital IQ.
